Varadkar says there'll be 'no cliff edge' for struggling households

MORE cost of living supports will be paid out in the New Year, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has hinted.

He vowed no "cliff edge" cut-off on the February 28 deadline - as €1.3billion Budget measures kick in from today.

Mr Varadkar said: "We will give consideration as to what we can do in the spring to help people."

TAOISEACH Leo Varadkar has vowed there can be “no cliff edge” to cost of living supports and that the Government will consider new measures this month.

He acknowledged inflation will not be under control by February 28 – when cost of living supports are due to end – and the Government will have to intervene.
