FROM creepy demons to spider webs, Dave Barron has transformed his home into a spine-tingling Halloween spectacle for more than a decade.
Dave and his family, from Bramhall, in Stockport, bestow bewitching creations mostly handmade to the neighbourhood along with an annual theme. Such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, E.T., Harry Potter and this year's Scooby-Doo 'Where's my Mummy??
Known locally as the 'Halloween house, Dave, his partner Catherine, and his two children Sarah, 24, and Stephen, 27, have raised thousands over the years for their chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.
However, fundraising has become more important than ever to the family due to a heartbreaking reason. The autumnal display is now in memory of its maker, Catherine, who died at just 49 years old.
Catherine, who was a radiographer at Withington Hospital, died in March 2020 due to breast cancer. "Even as she got ill, she was helping us with the decorations," Dave told the M.E.N.
"Her strength and courage in her battle was amazing, she rarely complained."
