The Castlefield Viaduct will be the new home of the WaterAid Garden, which wowed judges at the prestigious horticultural show.
Created by architect Je Ahn and landscape designer Tom Massey, the garden is inspired by the charity's work across the world to develop sustainable water solutions. It features a beautiful centrepiece which harvests, filters and stores rainwater for irrigation, while also serving as a shelter from heavy downpours and provides shade.
It aims to highlight the work of WaterAid and encourage people to think about sustainable water management. It comes as almost one in ten people globally do not have clean water close to home, and climate change is making the situation worse.
