Birds turned my back garden into feeding moshpit

HAVE you ever done something and then immediately regretted it? It's happening every morning, as I get up early - around 6am - and feed the birds in my garden.

As soon as I walk through the kitchen door, the racket is unbelievable. My neighbours will be utterly exhausted. Twenty starlings suddenly appear, made up of parents trying to feed shrieking fledglings.

The youngsters just sit on the wall with their mouths wide open crying for attention.

Then along come five or six jackdaws, 'crawking' and 'crowing, like they do, scattering the starlings out of the way. In between this mass of black birds, sparrows hop in and out of the bird table, snatching morsels from the greedy-guts.
