Sir Jim Ratcliffe met with United's new football structure in London during the international break and Ten Hag's future was discussed after the club's worst start in Premier League history.
However, Ten Hag survived and oversaw a 2-1 victory against Brentford on Saturday afternoon thanks to second-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.
Brentford took a 1-0 lead on the stroke of half-time at Old Trafford, but United showed character to complete a comeback shortly after the hour mark. The win moved United to 11th in the table and they are now six points adrift from the Champions League qualification places.
