In what is the 15th edition of the popular Bank Holiday event, punters queued outside the Rose ’N’ Bowl in Stacksteads, Rossendale from noon for the world-renowned event.
Contestants this year included an Elvis impersonator, a luche libre in Bisto trunks, a woman dressed as an Italian mobster and a man dressed as Borat. With spirits high in the garden of the Rose ‘N’ Bowl, which is on the outskirts of Bury, the competition started off with the wrestlers lined up facing the crowd and introducing themselves to rapturous applause.
