Guardiola: 'We deserve credit, we are always there and are still in there'

PEP Guardiola credited Manchester City for playing with personality at Anfield that leaves them well in the hunt for another Premier League title with ten games to go.

John Stones gave the visitors the lead at Anfield but they were forced to hold off a second-half onslaught from Liverpool after gifting a goal through a penalty just after the break. The home side wanted a 99th-minute penalty after a clumsy challenge from Jeremy Doku but the Blues held on to stay a point behind Liverpool and Arsenal.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have been the only team to beat City to a title in the last six years, while Arsenal led the way for the majority of the last campaign before being reeled in. With the Gunners visiting City at the end of the month, more twists are guaranteed in a title race that has more teams left in it with 10 games to go than English football is used to.

It may be more difficult for City to overcome two teams, but Guardiola was more interested in using the reality to point out how good and how consistent his team have been for many years.
