AN eyewitness to the fatal car crash which claimed the life of a woman has praised the heroic efforts of two people who rushed to her aid.
The 22-year-old pedestrian was hit by a car on Mauldeth Road West in Withington on Friday morning and was taken to hospital.
Despite the efforts of the passersby and large numbers of paramedics, the woman died later in hospital.
Two men, 18 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the crash, with one released with no further action and the other bailed pending further investigation.
