A WIDOWED father has spoken of his heartbreak following the devastating loss of his wife and unborn child.
On February 28, 2021, heavily pregnant Sabine Mukanga was rushed to North Manchester General Hospital after complaining of heartburn and feeling unwell.
The 28-year-old, who was seven months pregnant with her fourth child, died later on that day along with her daughter, Princetta who she was carrying.
Princetta was stillborn and Sabine died during an emergency C-section. Sabine's husband, Robert Lawani, 39, now looks after the two children he had with her who are aged four and seven, while Sabine's eldest son, who she had in a previous relationship, is being looked after by his grandparents.
Robert, from Salford, says that the ordeal has left him 'isolated' but he is trying to 'stay in one piece' for the children.
