A TEENAGER who was missing from home for six years with his mum said he doesn't want her to go to prison.
Alex Batty, 17, who is now back home with his legal guardian gran in Oldham, said he spent years 'emotionally preparing' to leave his mother and grandfather, adding that he 'knew it was time'.
He vanished aged 11 after a holiday with his mum and grandad in Spain and was found by a delivery driver walking along a road near Toulouse in southern France on December 13.
When asked if he thought he would ever see his mother or grandfather again he said he probably wouldn't, but added it was 'okay' as 'they know I'm all right and I know they're all right'.
