A TEENAGER witnessed one of his co-defendants stab Kennie Carter, a murder trial has heard.
Rashaun Williams, 18, claimed he saw Boy A, who can't be named for legal reasons, knife the 16-year-old.
Mr Williams said he didn't know Kennie and had no intention of causing him harm. Boy A has admitted stabbing Kennie but claims he was acting in self-defense. Jabriel Ferguson, 19, of School Walk, Old Trafford; his younger brother Latif Ferguson, 18, of the same address; and Mr Williams, 18, from Staffordshire; have all been charged with murder and manslaughter. Seven other boys all under 18 - have been charged with the same offences. They cannot be named for legal reasons.
Kennie died after being stabbed in Stretford, Trafford, on January 22, 2022. He was allegedly murdered in 'revenge' following an 'incident' the day before, prosecutors allege.
Giving evidence in his defence at Manchester Crown Court, Mr Williams said he had not been in contact with any of his co-defendants during the incident on January 21, instead spending the evening with a girl.
