A MUM has spoken of her shock at being made an MBE in the King's New Year Honours for her work with children in hospitals.
Amanda Chadwick, 41, founded the charity, Pyjama Fairies, in 2014 after her new-born daughter Nevaeh Belle was diagnosed with congenital heart disease.
She made some pyjamas for her little girl which allowed her to keep warm and comfortable whilst doctors were able to carry out vital treatment and tests. From there, the charity was founded, and has recently passed the huge milestone of giving 50,000 pyjamas to children and babies in hospitals, free of charge.
Amanda, from Partington, said: "There were lots of wires, tubes and various things in Nevaeh Belle, but I couldn't dress her. I found that quite upsetting for me, thinking she might be cold or uncomfortable.
