I've never known an England side to be as bad as this one!

BORTHWICK'S GAMEPLAN ISN'T WORKING AND IT'S TOO LATE TO FIX IT NOW

THERE is a massive problem with England heading into the World Cup and one which is not easily fixed.

In fact, I can't remember a time when we were so bad! And, unbelievably, following their defeat to Fiji there is some concern that they may not even get out of a group made up of Argentina, Samoa, Japan and Chile.

I think they will, but if they don't then every head at Twickenham should roll.

It has become a litany of errors now.

We are playing a game plan which obviously doesn't work. I don't think the coaches are making any difference whatsoever.

Steve Borthwick will be saying he has confidence in his side and that they will get better well they can't get any worse.

This England side just does not have a plan B. Borthwick's philosophy in life and he is a pupil of Eddie Jones is if you kick the ball a lot, you put pressure on the other team a lot and you win a lot! His ideal game is 1,000 metres of kicking the ball in the air and putting pressure on.

That works perfectly in a club side environment like at Leicester Tigers where they have some really big forwards rampaging through. But the problem is it has been worked out at international level.

At club level, the pressure usually ends up in mistakes and that's when you capitalise. At international level, those mistakes generally don't happen. We also don't have a big powerful pack to make those tactics work.
