Mr Streeting affirmed in the House of Commons yesterday the government's commitment to the hospitals programme, assuring that it will be executed on a 'credible' timetable.
All projects within the programme promised by the previous Conservative administration will undergo a spending review, with 25 schemes still under consideration, the government announced back in July.
One of those projects is North Manchester General Hospital.
The crumbling Victorian-era buildings have not received the go-ahead after close to five years of government promises.
Mr Streeting apologised for yet another delay to North Manchester General's rebuild last month, but pledged it would go ahead eventually.
