THE Science and Industry Museum celebrates its 40th birthday this weekend and is hosting a series of special events to mark the occasion.
Originally opened as the Greater Manchester Museum of Science and Industry on September 15, 1983, the Liverpool Road attraction has welcomed visitors for four decades with its stories of the industrial revolution and beyond. To mark the milestone, bosses have organised a series of events from this Friday to Sunday.
They include expert talks, behind-the-scenes tours, birthday-themed and arts and crafts.
