A YOUNG mum who says her baby has been in hospital nine times for respiratory issues fears the mould in her flat could be making her son's condition worse.
Shannon Brogan says she faces a 'two to three year' wait to move home.
The 22-year-old mum-of-two moved into her flat on Greenheys Lane in Hulme in May last year. She said she didn't initially notice any mould. It wasn't until several months later, in November, that she claims she noticed the wallpaper in her bedroom 'rising off the wall.
In March, Shannon said she discovered 'black mould' covering the wall and reported it to Jigsaw Homes, which is responsible for the property. She said she was left with the mould for three months before a repairs team visited and treated the wall.
Shannon says she was advised to open her windows. Fans were ordered but did not arrive for several months, she claims. The mould repeatedly grew back, she added.
