THE 'majority' of 24 newly confirmed cases of measles in the region have been reported in Greater Manchester, according to health bosses.
The UK Health Security Agency said local health organisations are now warning people to make sure their vaccinations are up to date and be alert.
The agency confirmed it was now 'starting to see clusters of confirmed measles cases in the region!
In the latest weekly update, data published yesterday by the UKHSA revealed 24 cases of measles have now been reported in the North West between October 1 last year and February 13 - the latest statistics available. It's an increase of 14 cases on the weekly data published last week, with the UKHSA saying the 'majority' of the new cases are in Greater Manchester.
The agency said it was working with local authority public health teams and the NHS to monitor the situation, provide advice and support local communities to be aware of action they can take to protect themselves, including getting vaccinated.
