A yellow wind warning for the whole of England and Wales was in place until 6pm yesterday, with the Met Office warning strong winds of up to 70mph could cause possible short-term loss of power.
The Energy Networks Association said about 200,000 customers remained without power at 9am on yesterday following the effects of the storm, but added that 88% of affected customers had been reconnected.
