NEIGHBOURS have spoken of their devastation after a 28-year-old woman was found dead inside a home.
The tragic discovery was made when police responded to a concern for welfare check in the Halliwell area of Bolton on Saturday.
Upon arrival, emergency services evacuated nearby homes on Huxley Street after reports of a possible gas leak.
But in an update yesterday, Greater Manchester Police said their initial report of a leak ‘proved to be incorrect’.
Neighbours who were evacuated were allowed back into their homes after checks of the area were made, the M.E.N understands.
But sadly, the force confirmed a 28-year-old woman was found dead inside one property on the street.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
Locals said police, paramedics, fire crews and workers from the gas network owner Cadent flooded the street.
