A SPINAL surgeon has been slammed for serious failings after a host of patients complained they had been left with devastating results from going under his knife.
In 2021, an inquiry was launched into the former Salford Royal Hospital consultant John Bradley Williamson and his treatment of some 130 patients.
It found that he repeatedly exercised 'unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour, carried out botched surgeries, and left patients with serious blood loss, long-term pain and mobility issues.
The report follows patients, including a BBC actress, coming forward to complain about their treatment by Mr Williamson. They claim they were left with devastating complications after surgeries gone wrong.
The surgeon, now in his 60s, was employed in 1991 before being sacked from the trust in January 2015 following inappropriate behaviour towards a member of staff, reported the Sunday Times.
A decorated consultant, Mr Williamson admitted 'his 'his personal actions were inappropriate' ahead of the investigation's conclusion.
The new findings by the Northern Care Alliance (NCA) NHS Foundation Trust, which operates Salford Royal Hospital, has revealed significant misconduct in both his medical practice, and professional conduct with staff and patients.
The damning report stated: ""In a number of cases, surgery was found to be poorly planned and patients suffered high blood loss for the surgery performed," it continues.
