A THUG who played the act of a ‘caring neighbour’ burst into the home of an innocent local pensioner, before pinning him to the couch, throwing him onto the floor and stealing just £15.
Leon Gunning, 50, started talking to the 81-year-old victim as he took his usual daily walk down his street on February 2 of this year.
Gunning then asked if he needed any help getting back to his house, in Levenshulme, claiming he was a neighbour who had just moved to the area, court heard.
After arriving back at the elderly man’s house, Gunning then forced his way inside before ‘insisting the victim made him a cup of tea’, Greater Manchester Police said.
