Tory councillor: 'Get rid of stale Conservatives'

A TORY councillor has called for a general election as soon as possible to put an end to the ‘stale’ Conservative government.

Bob Clarke, who was re-elected in the Boothstown and Ellenbrook ward in Salford, blasted the national Conservative Party for their performance.

He said the local elections were a ‘disaster’, with a lack of clear policy or direction from the government.

His comments came following the city’s local elections results, where the Conservatives lost a council seat in the Worsley and Westwood Park ward to Labour, which is an area that has been traditionally dominated by the Tories.
