The 18-year-old finalised his switch to Old Trafford on Thursday and put pen to paper on a five-year deal. He became the club's second signing of the summer, following in the footsteps of Joshua Zirkzee.
The youngster has immediately strengthened United's centre-back options, but the club is open to making more additions in the heart of the defence. It is one of a handful of areas they could still add to this summer.
With that in mind, MEN Sport has taken a close look at how United's squad looks as it currently stands and what might change before the window closes in our audit of the player inventory.
GOALKEEPERS
United are currently well-stocked in the goalkeeping department after tying Tom Heaton down to a new contract earlier this month. Andre Onana will continue as the club's No.1 this season and it is likely he will be supported by Altay Bayindir, who played just once last term after arriving from Fenerbahce.
Beyond Onana, Bayindir and Heaton, United also have the likes of Radek Vitek, Dermot Mee and Elyh Harrison who can provide even more depth. It would be no great surprise to see Vitek head out on loan again.
