THE walk to Edgeley Park from Stockport railway station goes past rows of houses, the floodlights welcoming fans to Stockport County' home for over a century.
It's a sight that's becoming less common as more football clubs build stadiums away from their spiritual homes but there are no such plans in Stockport, where the club wants to expand to 18,000 seats.
The team are fighting for promotion this season, and the 10,000-seater stadium has been packed with fans but around the ground, there are fears that traffic could become a huge problem.
Edgeley residents have said that there needs to be a plan to manage parking if the stadium is expanded and the club has promised to offer 'quick and easy routes' as part of any expansion work.
