Warrington's Challenge Cup final defeat to Wigan last weekend appeared to have had a lasting effect and Salford punished lacklustre Wire with three breakaway tries in the first period from Nene Macdonald, Deon Cross and Marc Sneyd.
Rodrick Tai's effort midway through the second half gave Warrington a glimmer of hope and the hosts must have thought a comeback was on the cards when Matty Ashton crossed to make it 19-8.
However, Cross' second try of the match soon after all but sealed the points for Salford and meant Tai's late response was nothing more than a consolation.
Salford opened the scoring in the sixth minute after breaking the line to charge 50 metres up the pitch, the Red Devils working the ball from right to left before Sam Stone's offload to Macdonald allowed him to run in under the posts.
