HARMFUL EFFECTS OF MICROPLASTICS
Microplastics are tiny plastic particles measuring less than 5 millimetres in size, and they come from various sources, such as the breakdown of larger plastic items, synthetic fibres, and microbeads found in personal care products.
Once in the environment, they can be ingested by marine organisms and enter the food chain, ultimately reaching humans.
