This year’s season is intertwined with education and community engagement programming with a focus on Black excellence and the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop. Curating multiple performances for this year’s season is West Philadelphia-born and raised hip hop artist and entrepreneur Chill Moody, who is The Mann’s first-ever Community Artist-in-Residence.
I worked with The Mann a few years ago to assist in bringing over 3000 guests for a concert with Marvin Sapp and again with Dennis Lee for a Gospel Show featuring representatives from a number of local church choirs. It was a pleasure working with them and reaching out to my community with great shows. The Mann continues to focus on servicing the African American community with affordable shows under the leadership of President and CEO of the Mann, Cathy Cahill.
But the fun starts this week, from May 18 to 20; The Mann and TD Bank are collaborating to present a threeday festival that celebrates Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their vibrant culture.
