India and Qatar convened a Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting in Doha on July 10, 2024, to discuss various aspects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. The Indian delegation, comprising officials from the Department of Commerce and other ministries, engaged in productive discussions with their Qatari counterparts.
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry highlighted that both sides reviewed the progress of ongoing discussions aimed at finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Food Safety and Cooperation. This MoU intends to enhance cooperation in exchanging pre-arrival information for facilitating trade and customs control on goods. Both delegations expressed commitment to conclude these discussions expeditiously to streamline trade processes between the two nations.
