PM Modi's focus on tunnel rescue operations

In an exchange with Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked for information on the crucial rescue effort meant to release the forty-one workers who have been imprisoned in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi since November 12.

CM Dhami, in a series of updates shared on a social media platform, disclosed the details of the conversation with the Prime Minister. “Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi called today and took information about the ongoing rescue operation of the workers trapped at Silkyara tunnel, Uttarkashi,” he wrote.

During their discussion, CM Dhami apprised the Prime Minister about the significant headway made in the relentless relief and rescue endeavours. He highlighted the concerted efforts orchestrated in collaboration with central agencies, international experts, and the state administration to expedite the rescue operation.

Additionally, CM Dhami informed Prime Minister Modi about the proactive steps taken to arrange a specialized medical team, ambulances, helicopter services, and the establishment of a temporary hospital to ensure immediate medical attention and care for the trapped workers. He emphasized that instructions had been issued to AIIMS Rishikesh to stand prepared for any emergent medical requirements.
