Gujarat's Rajkot city witnessed a tragic incident on May 25 when a fire engulfed the TRP Gaming Zone, claiming the lives of 27 individuals, including children. Subhash Trivedi, heading the Special Investigation Team (SIT), revealed that the Gujarat Home Minister is keen on taking action against those found responsible for the incident. Trivedi emphasized the need to delve into the root cause of the tragedy during a meeting to review the progress of the investigation.
Rajkot Collector Prabhav Joshi confirmed the death toll of 27 and stated that all DNA samples from the deceased's relatives have been matched, eliminating any further claims. The main accused, Dhaval Thakkar, was apprehended by the Banaskantha Local Crime Branch police and Rajkot Police. Thakkar, a resident of Abu Road, had absconded following the fire outbreak.
