CAIT forecasts Rakhi festival trade to top Rs 12,000 cr this year, driven by increased market activity and a preference for Indian-made products
RAKHI SALES SET TO EXCEED RS12,000 CRORE: CAIT

The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has projected that festive trade during the Rakhi festival this year will exceed Rs 12,000 crore across the country. This marks a significant increase from the previous year's Rakhi trade, which was estimated at around Rs 10,000 crore. The trade body has observed a massive surge in market activity, with consumers showing heightened enthusiasm for shopping during this festive season.

The CAIT has also urged customers to celebrate the festival with Indian-made goods, reflecting a growing trend towards supporting indigenous products.

A notable shift in consumer behavior has been the increased preference for indigenous Rakhis over Chinese ones. According to CAIT, this year, there has been no demand for Chinese Rakhis, a continuation of a trend that has been building over several years.

The organization emphasized that only Indian-made Rakhis have been sold in the country this year, highlighting a broader movement toward supporting local artisans and reducing reliance on imported goods.
