Dark Horses Are Now The Favourites
The Citizen|December 28, 2024
I said when the season started that Liverpool were the dark horses for the Premier League title, and after 17 matches, they are leading the pack.

It was a season where many pundits expected Manchester City to extend their dominance in English football, but The Reds are now firmly in control of the title race.

At the time of digesting the Premier League race halfway through the season, the Merseyside outfit were seven points ahead of second-placed Chelsea with one game in hand. If anyone had offered Liverpool fans this scenario when the season started, none of them would have declined the enviable position they find themselves in at the moment.

If Liverpool don't get over the line, it would be a huge failure and one of the biggest bottle jobs in recent memory. In all honesty, I don't see Arne Slot and his boys blowing their lead at the top of the standings.
