In a major blow to the BJP, Aditya Devi Lal, grandson of INLD founder Chaudhary Devi Lal quit the party after being passed over for a ticket. On Sunday, he joined the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and was immediately declared the party's candidate from Dabwali, setting the stage for a high-stakes electoral showdown against his nephew, JJP's Digvijay Chautala.
Expressing his commitment to the INLD, Aditya stated, "I have returned to the INLD family to fight the upcoming elections with strength and determination, fulfilling the vision of my grandfather, Chaudhary Devi Lal." Sports Minister Sanjay Singh, disgruntled over ticket distribution in Sohna, held a meeting with his supporters, signalling a potential independent candidacy. Singh has been vocal in his opposition to BJP's Tejpal Tanwar securing the party nomination.
