Babus in graft cases yet to be suspended

At least 173 officials booked in corruption cases are yet to be placed under suspension, statistics from the Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) show.

The state police itself is among the top four departments with the highest number of corruption cases against its officials.

The statistics also reveal that the maximum number of officials who have not been suspended are from the Mumbai range.

According to the statistics, till December last year, there were 173 officials from 21 government departments who were yet to be placed under suspension.

Out of these, 30 were Class I officers, 28 Class II and 107 Class III.
