Arvind Sawant says Sena UBT)’'s definition of development is to bring out the best in the city and not pollution
‘Current govt is bringing projects that cause pollution

The Maha Vikas Aghadi has fielded sitting MP and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Arvind Sawant from the Mumbai South seat. Considered a party strongman, Sawant successfully won the crucial seat in the past two elections and also served as a cabinet minister in the past. He is pitted against Yamini Jadhav from the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.

At the 2024 Mumbai Debate organised by the FPJ, Sawant launched a front attack for no BMC elections in the past two years. As the city's day-to-day affairs are directly related to the civic body, he said that the BMC is functioning without elected representatives and it proves that the democracy and the Constitution of India are at stake.

Lauding his party chief Uddhav Thakeray for his work, he said that the coastal road is UBT chief's gift to Mumbaikars as the project was funded by the BMC, ruled by the undivid ed Shiv Sena. Besides the coastal road, he said that Thackeray presented to the city the transformative Mahalaxmi race course and Mumbai's east coast development.
