Interplay of Shiva and Shakti at the fore

Over the years I became aware that in nature everything is interdependent.

The opposites need each other to exist, darkness cannot exist without light, large cannot exist without the small or the fluid without the solid. Shiva and Shakti represent the opposites—the Yin and the Yang. It is their interplay which is the magnificent cosmic balance and the central inspiration for this collection, says Satish Gupta, celebrated painter, sculptor, poet, writer, printmaker, skilled draftsman, muralist, designer, and calligrapher whose works are on display at the Salar Jung Museum.

Speaking about his journey, Satish says, "I realised that creation is time independent, it transcends eternity. Creation is happening all the time. This magnificent universe, this awe-inspiring cosmos is being born, is dying and is being reborn each instant."
