The Chhattisgarh Council of Ministers on Friday approved the key amendments to the reorganization orders of five regional development authorities. These authorities include the Chhattisgarh State Rural and Other Backward Classes Development Authority, Surguja Region Tribal Development Authority, Scheduled Caste Development Authority, Central Region Tribal Development Authority, and Bastar Region Tribal Development Authority. The amendments aim to broaden public representation and enhance administrative efficiency.
As part of the changes, all ministers of the state cabinet, along with the MPs of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha from the respective areas, and district panchayat presidents of the authority regions, will now serve as members of these authorities. The Principal Secretary or Secretary of the Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department will also be included in the membership. All previously appointed members will retain their positions.
