Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir after several terror attacks, including on a bus carrying pilgrims, sources said. The Union minister called a high-level meeting on June 16, to be attended by National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, J&K LG Manoj Sinha, Army and CRPF officials among others to take stock of the prevailing situation in the UT and steps taken to stop rising terror attacks.
The home minister in the Sunday meeting will also review the preparedness for the annual Amarnath Yatra, which will begin on June 29, they said. The minister was also briefed on the prevailing situation in J&K and the measures taken following the terror incidents.
Terrorists struck at four places in Reasi, Kathua and Doda districts of J&K over the past four days. Nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan were killed and seven security men and several others were injured.
