Shardul stars in General Education Academy victory

Another brilliant daddy ton from man-of-the-match Shardul Fagare (pic, left) ensured a massive victory for General Education Academy, Chembur, beating opponents Convent of Jesus and Mary by 164 runs at the United Cricket Club, advancing into the next round of the Giles Shield Cricket Tournament.

Batting first, the Chembur outfit amassed 282-8 in 45 overs. The star of the show was opening right-handed dynamic batter, the 12-year-old Shardul's 171 came in just 126 balls, including 12 boundaries.

His dominance with the bat has been incredible, notching up back-to-back massive centuries. Siddhant Desai scored 47 while Devansh Ghodke contributed a handy 41. For the opposition, Ajinkya Sule grabbed a five-wicket haul (5-85) in 16 overs. In reply, the Convent team were bundled out for a paltry 117 in 39 overs. Aman Sunil picked a six-fer (6-31) in 15 overs, including three maidens.
