Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized the rich cultural heritage of tribal society and its connection to India's eternal traditions during a seminar on "Tribal Identity, Survival, and Development" held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur.He noted the historical significance of Chhattisgarh, where Lord Ram spent part of his exile and tasted Shabari's berries, underscoring the deep ties between tribal culture and Indian heritage.He highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, praising his sensitivity towards tribal identity and heritage.He also expressed pride in Droupadi Murmu, a tribal woman, holding the highest office in India.Sai noted that tribal society has always opposed evil practices and celebrated its cultural richness.Recalling the nationwide Tribal Pride Day celebrations from November 13 to 15, Sai highlighted the contributions of tribal leaders to India's independence and cultural preservation.He also shared the success of the Padyatra in Jashpur district, which received praise from Prime Minister Modi for promoting tribal development and cultural exchange among states.The Chief Minister credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for creating a separate Ministry of Tribal Welfare and laying a foundation for tribal development.He detailed current government initiatives aimed at providing equal opportunities for development across tribal and non-tribal areas.Programs like PM Janman Yojana, Dharti Aaba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana have significantly impacted tribal communities, alongside efforts like the Niyad Nella Naar scheme, which extends government services to remote Bastar villages.Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap stressed the importance of preserving tribal values and passing them to future generations while recognizing the community's efforts in nature conservation.Main speaker Atul Jog highlighted the selflessness of tribal communities, citing their representation in Padma Award announcements.The seminar also featured addresses by Pawan Sai and Anurag Jain, with Higher Education Secretary Prasanna R. detailing state-run schemes supporting tribal students.
