The Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted bail to a city-based baker arrested for allegedly planting drugs on actor Chrisann Pereira, leading to her arrest in Sharjah, UAE, last year.
While granting relief to baker Anthony Paul and co-accused Rajesh Bobhate, Justice Manish Pitale observed that the quantity of drugs was small and no purpose would be served by keeping them in jail. While the chargesheet is already filed, the applicants have suffered incarceration for about one year and five months, Justice Pitale said.
