In the case of alleged rape of a 38-year-old model after spiking her drink, the Versova police are preparing to re-arrest the accused after the Andheri Metropolitan Court's order. On November 21, the police arrested Gunwant Jain, also known as Nilesh Mandhani, for the alleged rape. However, the court observed that the arrest violated Section 47 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) because the police failed to communicate the grounds for the arrest in advance. In this case, the police informed the accused four minutes after the arrest.
