After a two-year absence, in her first major competition since the Olympics, the 26-year-old marked her international return at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp with a staggering reminder of her greatness as she seeks her record-extending sixth world all-around title.
After nailing all four of her routines, Biles finished her subdivision of the two-day qualifying round leading the women's all-around with a score of 58.865. It is the highest international all-around score of the Olympic quadrennial and it is extremely unlikely that the score will be beaten. Biles will attempt to win her sixth world all-around title in the final on Friday.
Her performance included yet another first in a career filled with them; Biles landed her Yurchenko double pike vault in an international competition for the first time, meaning the most difficult vault being competed in women's gymnastics will be named the Biles II.
