Representatives from Gypsy and Traveller communities have said that they want "accountability not apologies" after children attending the Christmas markets in Manchester were "forced on to trains" by police.

As well as supporting affected families, the Traveller Movement charity held talks with lawyers yesterday, and said it was considering taking legal action over the incident.

Yesterday afternoon, some of the parents of children involved, as well as community leaders, attended a meeting in Manchester with the deputy mayor, Kate Green, after concerns were raised about the incident.
