A KIND-hearted barber has transformed his shop in Saltash to make it family-friendly – in the hope the act of getting a haircut for some children will be that little bit less traumatic.
Especially catering to children with additional needs, Gareth Roberts has recently undertaken a renovation project at his barbershop in Lower Fore Street to include an aeroplane and Spider-Man chair, plus toys, books, and colourful stickers on the walls. Children even get a lolly, sticker and certificate after their first haircut.
Gareth, aged 33, has lived in Saltash his whole life and says it’s ‘great to feel part of a real community’. He says every business ‘works together to support each other’ and ‘help each other out’.
