Arnason played 75 times for the Pilgrims between 2009 and 2011 and has spoken 'really well' about the club to Palssson, who described him as 'like my big brother! Bjarni Gudjonsson is another ex-Iceland international who was a midfielder at Argyle in 2004 and 2005 but Palsson does not know him as well as Arnason.
Palsson told Herald Sport: "I know Bjarni less. Me and Kari, he's like my big brother so we are really close. We played together in Denmark (for Aarhus). I was 16 and he was 25 at the time and he basically just took me under his wing."
Arnason has given Palsson, who has played 44 games for Iceland, plenty of advice about Argyle, and living in Plymouth, after completing his move from Belgian club Eupen last week.
Palsson said: "He has told me where to live, and told me this and that. He was a fan favourite wasn't he? He speaks really well of the place and he loved it here. He has given me some good tips."
