STEVEN Schumacher has confirmed Joe Edwards will continue as Plymouth Argyle captain for the 2023/24 Championship campaign.
The Pilgrims' boss has yet to decide who the new vice-captain will be, though, after defender James Wilson moved to League One outfit Bristol Rovers this summer.
Schumacher has mentioned three possible candidates for vice-captain - Adam Randell, who wore the armband for the final pre-season game away to Swindon Town on Saturday, Jordan Houghton and Dan Scarr.
Edwards, 32, signed a long-term contract with Argyle last October which will take him through until the summer of 2025.
