THE owners much-loved of a long-standing and Plymouth restaurant have spoken of their dismay at how they feel they are being treated by the city council, as Colin Campbell Court slowly undergoes its much-promised redevelopment.
Grecian Taverna bosses say they are joining other firms in the area who have been told to make way for the redevelopment, which was supposed to include a health hub.
Last July, the owner of the Costless food store highlighted how he was forced to close, after it was taken off him by Plymouth City Council, adding that it was never about the money, it was about having to leave a successful business he had built up over many years.
Now the owners of the Grecian Taverna have also spoken out, initially taking to their Facebook page to share their concerns and outrage. In strident terms, they claimed the council wanted to "get rid" of the restaurant and they added that, despite having "no Government funding", the council "still want to destroy and make the West End of Plymouth look like a waste ground".
