PLYMOUTH Community Homes has borrowed £25m to build 200 properties in the city. The social landlord will construct the dwellings over the next five years as part of an overall aim to create 1,500 homes.
It has been lent the cash by investment company Venn Partners, which is part of Hong Kong-based ESR Group. The loans fall under the £6bn Affordable Homes Guarantee Scheme (AHGS), which provides cost-effective loans to support the social housing sector's investment in new and existing homes.
The AHGS is a government-backed lending scheme to support the delivery of new affordable homes, recently increasing in size from £3bn to £6bn.
