A PLYMOUTH couple have put their ‘blood, sweat and tears’ into setting up a city care company, which has already been rated as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
James Bowley-Farleigh, aged 34, and his husband Darren Bowley-Farleigh, 33, set up J&C Healthcare in January last year.
James had already been working in the care sector for 15 years, but for Darren the move into care work was a complete change of career as he was a maintenance manager at a hotel – and previously worked in a lumber mill.
It was during the pandemic, when James was working through ‘tough times’ as a deputy manager elsewhere within the care sector, that the couple made the decision to set up their own care provider.
